Cottages with Mountain Views
Klein Doorn Farm Stay offers cottages with a private bathroom, a kitchen, and mountain views. Each unit includes a patio with outdoor furniture, a dining area, and tea and coffee making facilities. Some cottages have an indoor fireplace and an outdoor bathtub. Beds are comfortable with high-quality linens.
Amenities
Guests prepare their own meals in the kitchen, which features a refrigerator, stovetop, and free toiletries. BBQ facilities are available for outdoor grilling. The nearest shop is a 25-minute drive, so it is recommended to bring food and drinking water.
Leisure
Recreational activities include hiking trails across the farm, use of the hot tub, and outdoor showers. Guests can stargaze at night due to the remote location. Wildlife such as zebras, baboons, and birds are commonly seen. The farm is pet-friendly.
Location
The property is in a quiet, mountainous area 54 km from George Airport. It is a 25-minute drive to the nearest shops. Nearby attractions include ostrich farms and scenic hiking trails.
Important Practical Details
Free private parking is available on site. The farm is off-grid and solar-powered, so only small device charging is permitted. There is no internet or mobile signal. Staff are friendly and provide clear instructions. Guests should note the gate closes at 9pm, so arrival before that is advised.
“The farm stay offers a profound sense of peace, with accommodations thoughtfully appointed for comfort and self-sufficiency. I particularly appreciated the tranquil setting and the remarkable Karoo sunsets, creating a truly immersive escape. It's a place where one can genuinely disconnect and embrace the quiet.”
